Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Elmira was established in 1940. Monsignor Leo G. Schwab served as founding pastor for 29 years from 1940 until his retirement in 1969. Father Paul J. McCabe served for 20 years from 1978 until his death in 1998. The church building was dedicated in October 1941. The parish closed on November 15, 2021.
