Sacred Heart Church in Romulus was established as a mission in 1875 in the Finger Lakes region. The church building was constructed in 1876 and dedicated in the fall of 1887. Father Thomas P. Stafford served for 37 years from 1917 until his retirement in 1954—one of the longest pastorates in the diocese. The parish has since closed.
