St. Benedict

St. Benedict Church in Odessa was established as a mission in 1948 to serve the Catholic community in Schuyler County. The church building was dedicated on Christmas Day, 1955. Father Benedict Ehmann served as the founding pastor for 13 years.

Father Andrew J. Kalafsky served for 13 years from 1976 to 1989. Father David L. Bonin, CPPS, served for 12 years from 1989 to 2001. Father Paul Bonacci served for 13 years from 2001 to 2014. Today, St. Benedict is part of the Schuyler Catholic Community cluster.
