St. Edward

Demolished

City of Auburn, Cayuga County

In 1905, St. Edward was founded as a mission chapel of St. Mary in Auburn. The original November 1904 dedication was postponed to July 1905 due to incomplete construction. The chapel served the community until 1918, when the property was sold to the Franciscan Conventual Sisters of Syracuse. The building was subsequently demolished, and Auburn's Mercy Hospital was built on the site of the former church.
