St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
ActiveHamlin, Monroe County
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church has a unique origin—it traces its roots to a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp mission established in 1936 during the Great Depression. Priests from Nativity in Brockport served the CCC workers until the camp closed in the early 1940s.
The parish was formally established as St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on February 10, 1982—named for America's first native-born saint, canonized in 1975. Father William J. Amann served as founding pastor for 16 years. The present church building was constructed in 1987. Father William V. Spilly served for 16 years from 2004 to 2020. The parish continues as an independent parish serving the Hamlin community.
