St. John of Rochester Church in Perinton was established in June 1962, named for St. John Fisher—the English bishop and martyr who was the Diocese of Rochester's original patron. Father James E. Boyle served for 15 years from 1992 until his retirement in 2007. The present church building was dedicated on October 31, 1983. St. John remains an independent parish serving the Fairport community.
