St. Leo Church in Hilton was established as a mission in 1881 and became a parish on June 11, 1946. The parish was served by priests from St. John in Spencerport for 65 years before receiving its first resident pastor. Father Chester M. Klocek served for 25 years from 1968 until his retirement in 1993. The present church building was dedicated on July 3, 1966. St. Leo remains an independent parish.
