St. Lucy Church in Retsof was established in 1911 to serve the Catholic workers of the salt mining community in Livingston County. Father Charles R. Reynolds served for 31 years from 1940 until his retirement in 1971. The present church building was dedicated on December 24, 1964. Today, St. Lucy is part of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish.
