Churches of Rochester

Santa Maria de Mercede church existed for a brief period from 1913 to 1933. Sterling Salt Company donated land for the small church, which was built in 1914 to provide a local place of worship for the company's Italian Catholic employees. The church ceased operations in 1933 and was destroyed by fire sometime during the late 1930s.
