St. Mary Church in Geneseo was established in 1854, serving the Catholic community near SUNY Geneseo. The current church building was constructed in 1889. Father Walter J. Carron served for 17 years from 1965 to 1982, and Father William Gordinier served for 19 years from 1982 to 2001. Today, St. Mary is part of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish.
