St. Mary Church in Rexville has roots dating back to 1844 when the parish was established in Greenwood. The community relocated to Rexville in 1869. Father J. E. Casey served for 21 years from 1897 to 1918. The current church building was constructed in 1984. Today, St. Mary is part of the Our Lady of the Valley parish.
