St. Michael Church in Union Springs was founded in 1851 in Cayuga County. The parish moved into a former Episcopal church building in 1974. Bishop Thomas Hendrick, later Bishop of Cebu in the Philippines, served as pastor from 1877 to 1891. Today, St. Michael is part of the Good Shepherd Catholic Community cluster.
