St. Patrick

St. Patrick Church in Dansville was established in 1850 to serve the Irish Catholic community in this Livingston County village. Dansville had two Catholic parishes for many years—St. Patrick serving the Irish community and St. Mary serving German Catholics.

Father John C. O'Donnell served for 14 years from 1945 to 1959. The church building was constructed in 1925. The parish has since closed, with Catholics in Dansville now served by St. Mary Church and the Holy Family Catholic Community.
