Mumford - St. Patrick

St. Patrick Church in Mumford was established as a mission around 1850 to serve Irish Catholic families in the Wheatland area of western Monroe County. The church building was constructed in 1854. Father George Eisler provided long service, serving two terms totaling over 40 years from 1881 to 1923.

Father William J. Devereaux served for 26 years from 1944 to 1970. The parish closed in 1992 and merged with St. Columba in Caledonia.
