St. Patrick
ActiveSavannah, Wayne County
St. Patrick Church in Savannah was established in 1876 to serve the Catholic community in this Wayne County village. The parish had a complex early history, at times being served from St. John in Clyde and at other times as a mission of St. Michael in Montezuma.
Monsignor Joseph V. Curtin provided stability with a 28-year pastorate from 1929 to 1957. The present church building was constructed in 1964. Father Thomas F. Nellis served for nine years from 1983 to 1992. Today, St. Patrick is part of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
