St. Philip Neri

St. Philip Neri Church began as a mission of St. Francis Xavier in 1929 to serve the Catholic community in northeast Rochester. Father George J. Weinmann served both as pastor of the mother parish and then as the first resident pastor when St. Philip Neri achieved full parish status in 1959. He led the community until his death in 1967.
The present church building was constructed in 1969. Father Charles B. Connell served for 17 years from 1967 to 1984. The parish closed in August 2003 after 74 years of ministry.
