Brighton Jesuit Mission

Found on the south side of Blossom Rd. within the Our Lady of Mercy school campus, this memorial honors a former Jesuit mission. Fr. Louis Hennepin dedicated a small chapel near here in June 1679, though its actual location is thought to have been in Ellison Park. It is considered the first Christian church established in the Rochester area.
